The 15th TD Forum Council Meeting Held in Beijing

The 15th TD Forum Council Meeting was held in Beijing on January 2012.Representatives from TD Forum¡¯s Director members including Datang Telecom, Nokia Siemens Networks, Huawei, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Potevio, Nokia, ASB, Qualcomm, Ericsson, CATR of MIIT attended the meeting. In 2012, TD Forum should give full play to a neutral and open platform to carry out exchange activities between government and member enterprises, explore more breakthrough points for Forum's work, enhance communication and cooperation with international and domestic industry organizations, hold more internal activities for member enterprises to boost communication and cooperation among them, expand technology seminar participants scope to attract more attention from the industry and continue to play a positive role in promoting TD development. TD Forum VIP Dinner Banquet 2011 Held in Beijing

On December 29, TD Forum held a VIP dinner banquet for government and member enterprises in Beijing. Government officials from the Science and Technology Division, met with more than 30 business leaders from member companies of the Forum, including China Mobile, Qualcomm, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nokia, Ericsson, ASB, Datang, R&S, Agilent, NEC, Innofidei, MTK, CYIT, New Postcom, Aeroflex, Comba, Marvell, Borqs, France Telecom and Fujitsu. Leaders from new members of TD Forum, CATR of MIIT and Sony Ericsson also attended this event.

Before the banquet, Mr. Wen Ku, Director of Science and Technology Division, MIIT reviewed TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE achievements that China have obtained in 2011 and expressed his appreciation to every one for their hard work which make the communication system reach a new high. Mr. Wen stressed, the development of TD-LTE should carry out together with TD-SCDMA. He affirmed the important platform role of TD Forum in promoting the development of TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE and hoped every Forum members could make good use of this platform.

Mr. Zhou Jianming, General Manager from Technology Department, China Mobile attended this event and expressed his willingness to continue to work with the whole industry to promote the development of TD. He said China Mobile will carry the pressure forward and continue to expand its subscriber base to further accelerate TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE development. (more)


TD-LTE Testing Technology Seminar 2011 Held in Beijing

China Academy of Telecommunication Research of MIIT and TD Forum jointly held ¡°TD-LTE Testing Technology Seminar 2011¡± on December 7th, 2011 in the Presidential Beijing. Mr. Yu Shengduo, Director of Hi-tech Department of Science and Technology Division, MIIT attended this conference and gave the keynote speech. Mr. Yu stressed the development of TD-SCDMA and the promotion of TD-LTE industry is interrelated. According to Mr. Yu, TD-SCDMA test initial stage is difficult. Today, with the fast development of technology, the means of testing are becoming richer day by day. He hoped test function could support R9 version and meet the performance verification test in the second phase of TD-LTE scale network trial.

On today¡®s Seminar of 2011 TD-LTE Test Technology, Liu Duo, vice President of CATR, MIIT, said that the second phase of TD-LTE scale-trial will focus on multi-mode terminal. She also stressed that, "The global development opportunities of TD-LTE have emerged in 2012, and 2012 is still the critical period of TD-LTE development. (more)

The second phase for multi-mode test of TD-LTE scale technology test jointly organized by MIIT and China Mobile to start. Three chip manufacturers including ZTE Microelectronics, the Leadcore Technology and Innofidei will be involved in the second phase of TD-LTE technology test firstly. The second phase of the multi-mode test is considered as the important technical validation phase for China's 3G towards 4G. As China is the world's largest mobile operator and owns a huge TD-SCDMA user base, TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA compatible technology requirements is an inevitable trend for the future layout of LTE.

Leadcore technology has successfully passed every technology tests by the end of December 2011, becoming the first chip manufactures entered in the second phase dual mode technology test of MTnet test.

TD-LTE commercial service has been launched in Brazil, Japan, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.
